VECTRA 3D Imaging Technology

Although Dr. Kim has offered three-dimensional (3D) imaging technology since 2012, the ability to create a 3D digital image of what a patient’s plastic surgery results might look like is a relatively new phenomenon in the field. Many patients still do not realize that this technology exists!

To use the innovative VECTRA imaging system, Dr. Kim first takes a photograph of the area of the body or face that the patient would like to address with cosmetic surgery. The system provides simulated digital results of the patient’s desired procedure(s), so they can get a better idea of what their actual results might look like. This is a great tool for rhinoplasty and breast augmentation patients, among others.

Fat Transfer

Thanks to advancements in the way that fat cells are purified, patients can now use fat harvested from one area of the body to enhance another. For example, if a woman would like to enhance the size of her breasts, Dr. Kim can use liposuction techniques to remove fat from another area of her body that has an ample amount of fat cells, such as the abdomen or thighs. Using new and improved techniques, the fat is purified before being re-injected into the breasts. Dr. Kim massages the treatment area to ensure even distribution of the fat cells, and voil The patient achieves a natural degree of breast enhancement. This technique works on other areas of the body as well.

Note: The procedure may need to be repeated for optimal results, and fat transfer is best used when only a subtle degree of enhancement is desired. For more dramatic results, breast augmentation with the use of breast implants may be necessary.

The maker of Juvéderm, a popular dermal filler used to fill in fine lines and restore fullness to areas of the face that are lacking volume, has recently introduced Voluma XC.
