Prentice Women’s Hospital is located on Northwestern University’s downtown campus near the Magnificent Mile. It was first opened in 1975 with a stark design by Bertrand Goldberg whose architecture is seen elsewhere throughout the city.

Recently the New York Times published an article about a rare cancer that has been linked to breast implants, breast implant associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) a rare type of non-Hodgkins lymphoma.

Last week Dr. Kim presented the Greeley Lecture at the Chicago Surgical Society; his talk was titled “Advances in Breast Reconstruction.” The Chicago Surgical Society was formed in the early 20th century to provide an outlet to help foster the development of surgery as a science.

Last week Dr. John Kim was the University of Toronto keynote lecturer at the 17th annual Toronto Breast Symposium. This internationally attended conference includes lectures, video presentations, open panel discussions, as well as question and answer sessions.

After having breast augmentation surgery with Dr. John Kim there will be a number of tips he will suggest to recover from surgery.

In particular, Dr. John Kim will recommend no heavy lifting or exercise for four to six weeks after surgery.
